Earlier this month, my husband lost his younger brother to suicide. He did not take this loss well and actually ended up being suicidal himself. I will spare all of the personal details and just say that we live in Illinois and my husband ended up in a cheap hotel in Indiana. Being a concerned wife, I called the police to get to him and stay with him until I could get there. After the police made contact with him he voluntarily went to Deaconess Gateway Hospital for an evaluation. He was "evaluated" or asked questions by an individual named Michael through a television screen. A report was then prepared based on Michael's interpretation of my husband's responses. He was told that he was going to involuntarily admitted and that he would be criminally charged if he were to leave the facility. I stressed the importance of returning home so that we could resume planning his brother's funeral service that was yet to take place.

My doctor sent me cause of suicidal thoughts, waited 2 hours and left. Guess it wasn't important.

I went here and maybe it was just because I was used to the other place I had gone but I didn't enjoy it. The staff was kinda okay but forceful. There were fights amongst the other patients and sometimes I wasn't woken up for breakfast, lunch, dinner whatever time it was. Considering we had room time and I usually took naps to pass time, I was usually never woken up. If I was it was late. I went to Bloomington Meadows before that and it was better than Crosspointe. Helped a bit better.

Incredibly incompetent psychiatrist and rude uncaring nursing staff. I had to be rushed to the ER one night because the MD started me on a drug that was clearly contraindicated for me. As I got sicker and sicker from the drug they gave me, I begged the nurses to come from behind their desk to check on me but I laid on the floor for at least 15 minutes and only when I asked for a pan to puke in did they finally come out cuz they didnt wanna clean up a mess. MY blood pressure was off the charts and I was delirious and spent the rest of that night in the ER. Although I was there only 3 days, there are other horror stories I could tell. Let me just conclude with "dont go there".

He said that the would relay this information to the physician and get back to us. Within a few minutes an ambulance crew had arrived to take my husband to CrossPoint for his involuntary admittance. I demanded to speak to Michael and conveniently his shift had ended. At this time is when the employee Jeff came back on the screen. I asked him what was going on because we were unfamiliar with this process. He proceeded to treat us like we were a burden and that it was a waste of his time to explain to us what has happening. When I asked " Can you please tell us what is going on?" His response lacked empathy, was RUDE and downright CRUEL. He said " Well what's evidently happened is you've gone off and threatened to kill yourself so now your being admitted, buddy." He completely disregarded the fact that my husband was planned his brother's funeral and when I stated that if he were to miss his funeral he would be set back even further, mentally, he didn't even care. He acted as if it didn't even matter. This guy was awful, disgusting and does not belong in a facility working with individuals who are in a fragile state. POOR POOR POOR customer service on his behalf. He began reading the report that Michael had prepared based on the answers given to him by my husband, there was information in the report that was NEVER even said! He lied and his report is what the physician based his decision on.

I was there for 10 days and let me just say... These were the worst 10 days of my life.
