So if you find yourself unemployed and need a few extra bucks, I highly recommend this place.

While they assure you frequently that things are in order, there's a feeling that if you don't "do this for a living" they'll sort of look over things that would make your stay more comfortable. Of course if you hunt down a nurse or technician they'll answer your question, but it's just a lot of little things that add up to make this a tough decision as to whether I'd do it again or refer my friends.

I don't think the staff are out and out malicious or of bad intent. I just don't think they are as person conscious as they are procedure conscious. If I was an experimental lab rat circuit runner or perhaps desperately in need of this money, I imagine many of my concerns I would let slide. Given my head space isn't littered with personal folly, it's hard to ignore the "matter-of-fact" attitude when I'm something of a chicken with its head cut off.

I didn't expect to get hurried off of a toilet or not be able to find the soap for the shower. I wasn't told to expect moving rooms and packing and repacking. Our orientation was "rushed" in that we weren't really shown around. It's a nice piece of luck to get a hold of someone to ask a question and not think I'm interrupting their schedule. A nurses comments about the smell in the room are frankly rude when we haven't been given time since we arrived to hit the showers.

I know they need to explain information to all types of people. With that concession, there may be a way to do it without dragging us back to primary school. I don't feel the need to even passively scold one of the staff for mumbling my initials causing 3 people to grab for the same tray. A dismissive stare or comment about being on time isn't appreciated when I'm coming back from the bathroom or blood draw.

I'm glad they closed and I hope some of the mean-spirited workers who worked there don't find work. There were some nice workers but there some not-nice ones also, who shouldn't have been working there. There was very poor supervision there -- that let people act inappropriately and unprofessional.

For a good 2 days I was having a raging headache. They're concern is to document it, but not reflect on the high beam lights you stare at sitting supine 7 times a day or keeping us up for 20 hours. I don't know what's expected of me, whether I'm allowed to grab a cold towel or bring a chair in so I can sit up as they stress not to move around furniture. Though one person lucked out and got the table in our room. In my case I'm sure it was eye strain mixed with allergies and laying down most of the day huffing the body odor of 4 men in a box.

This place kept me afloat for the period in life when I was unemployed. They pay you to stay here for a few nights and take mysterious drugs that are in the testing phase and hang out with other interesting people. The meals suck, period. But I've been told I"m a picky eater, so to others the food might have been outstanding.

I've thought several times of just up and leaving, but I respect what these drug trials mean for pill safety (ha!) and it's irrational and impractical to scoff at "easy" money. If you're considering doing something like this, get a detailed explanation first and if you don't have questions, make them up until find yourself upon a relevant one. As long as I can avoid surprises, it should get easier from here though.

The staff was always outstanding and handled any concern or needs with professionalism and swiftness. I never felt like I was at risk for anything because there are always RNs and MDs there and an ER is right outside the door for that matter.
