So I went in and tried talking to her, about it because I was doing very physical, manual labor and has having my back lock up on me. She wouldn't see me and sent her nurse out to the front desk and embarrassed me in front of the whole waiting room by stating that "its not her fault I took more meds than I was suppose to" and causing a scene and making me look like I was some druggy.
When I went to my appointment she made me wait out in the waiting room for over an hour. Patients that came in 30-40 mins after me were getting taken and not me. Well after finally getting called back, the same nurse from before took me back and wouldn't look me in the eyes, or say more than hi or asking me to step on scale. After waiting in the doctors room for 45 minutes a nurse practitioner came in to speak to me. She got the MRIs back and stated there was significant degeneration of my L5 and was surprised I had not gotten sciatic nerve pain yet (I do now). So after she did all of that to me, she was too much of a coward to apologize or admit she made a mistake and sent in another NP to see me. I have no idea what would cause her to treat another person like this for no reason.
Well I had to go through medication withdrawal for two weeks till the newer prescription could be accepted by a pharmacy. I also had an appointment with her still on the calendar. I was so upset I wanted to keep the appointment so I could tell her how poorly she treated me and ask why she would do this to me when I had not exhibited any behavior other than a patient taking meds as I had done for a year before. I was also suppose to get my MRIs back.
The sad thing was that I was given Dr. Kelley's name by a coworker who I liked very much. Well, Janet Kelley she was very close with the lady from my work that recommended her. After all of that happened that lady from work acted funny towards me and would regularly look down at the ground when I saw her. Which makes me think the doctor told her about what happened and I'm sure that is illegal.
So I see Janet Kelley for the first time and show her my medications which consist of ibuprofen, flexeril, and tramadol. These do not cure my pain, but I did not want any issues so I just went with it. She said she could prescribe me these no problem. So I was prescribed previously 3 per day and when she wrote the prescription she wrote it for 2 per day. Well I didn't notice this till I was running low and was still two weeks away from getting a new prescription. So I called her office and said nicely that she wrote me for 2 per day and I had previously been at 3 and could she call me please. No call back. Called again, and once again no call back.
Wonderful doctor that I would recommend to anyone. Always allows me to ask questions, is easy to talk to, and her staff always gets back within a timely manner. I have nothing but excellent things to say about her.
She may be a nice person, but she was extremely rude to me. I would not recommend her to anyone. Very sad that a patient who is already vulnerable with pain problems has to go through that!
If I could give Janet Kelley negative stars I would. I had previously had multiple back injuries and did not receive pain meds till it was locking up everyday and causing me to miss work. So I gave in and the doctor started prescribing me pain medicine. I moved to Indiana, where the drug problem is apparently terrible, and was told I had to drop my strength of pain medicine to something just a notch above ibuprofen. I had no problem with that. I was still being prescribed from my previous doctor the new stuff so my body would get use to it.
