I took my 10 year old son in and he got a great deal on his trade-in and on his purchases. I was very pleased with the gentleman who runs the shop. He was friendly and very informative. Also, the shop has a lot of stock and variety. We are looking forward to our next trip.
I absolutely love this place, my son loves this place and its really a shame that a hateful, dishonest, crook is running it. My son and I buy and sell legos there have since they opened until today. My son brought a Rubbermaid tub of Lego parts into sell, at the time one of two owners was there. He looked it over and said he was at $20 because the legos were dirty and my son had mega blocks mixed in (huge no no apparently) i said we were hoping for $80, the response we got was well if you cleaned them you have $40-60 here no problem maybe more if you sort the bad blocks out. This is where the problem comes in we take them home and wash them with soap and water, then we soak them in 2 parts water 1 part H2O2. I spend the next 10 hours sorting them all and drying them, now i know we've put way more effort in to it then money we will get out but the owner said $40-60 no problem and we had a good time doing the work. I take the bin back in today as my son has school. Today is the other owner and I don't know if he was already mad or if im just lucky that way but he didn't like it when i started the negotiation at $80, he proceeds to get upset, i apologize if i have up set him and where hes at on price, he says if i even take them im not paying more then $10, he is getting up set and starting to talk over me. I try to remain calm and explain this tub was here already this week and we were told of we cleaned it and sorted it we were looking at $ 40+, the man who kept repeating he was the owner, just kept repeating im not paying over $ 10 ..
I can't accurately describe the events just think 6th grade after school fight. He finally got me pissed enough to get loud. I didnt act honorably but I let him know you don't take advantage of kids to grow your business. This was not the first time they had told my son one price and tried to pay me less, i assumed it was an honest mistake but at this point I know this is their business model. Great store and concept, the people are the component that make this a ONE star store
